Our story

A lifetime at the block

With more than three decades of experience in the meat industry, my career began at the age of 13 in a small neighborhood butcher shop in South Philadelphia. It was there that I discovered my passion for the craft and knew early on that the butcher trade was what I wanted to pursue throughout my life.

I built my foundation working in independent neighborhood butcher shops before expanding my experience with a sausage manufacturer and two major retailers, Genuardi’s Family Markets and Costco. These experiences provided me with a well-rounded understanding of the industry, from traditional butchering techniques and product quality to large-scale retail operations and customer service.

In 2014, I reached a significant milestone in my career when I acquired Giunta’s Prime Shop at Reading Terminal Market. Owning my first business allowed me to put my experience, dedication, and passion into practice while serving customers in one of Philadelphia’s most recognized food destinations.

In 2024, I was fortunate to meet Vince Lombardi and take over a true South Philadelphia staple, marking another important chapter in my professional journey. This opportunity represented not only the continuation of my career but also a commitment to preserving the traditions, values, and neighborhood spirit that define South Philadelphia’s butcher shops.
